This active 63 year old professional works in the business world, where many of her coworkers are considerably younger. Frequently called upon to speak in front of large groups, she considers cosmetic injectables just one more part of her beauty maintenance regimen. She feels looking attractive is a necessity in a corporate culture that prizes youth and vitality.  A patient of Dr. Weinberg’s for many years, she is pictured here before injection with Restylane. An attractive woman, she is developing some of the classic signs of aging, and we can see her undereye area has become hollow, and she has lost volume in her cheek. In particular , she is developing so called                     “marionette” lines, from the corner of the mouth to the jaw, and laxity of skin on the jawline is beginning to cause the early appearance of jowls. Her lips, especially upper lip, have become thinner with age as is common, and she has prominent nasolabial lines from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth. After treatment with  5 syringes of Restylane and Perlane, placed in the “ tear trough” ( under eye), cheek, nasolabial and chin, upper lip and pre jowl area, she has a fuller, more youthful look. She reports that lipstick no longer “ bleeds” into fine lines above the lip, a complaint she had prior to injection. There is particular improvement to the sweep of her jawline, best seen in the lateral views. The change is subtle, but pleasing. In this photo she has also benefited from glomineral cosmetic powder foundation , matched to her skin tone. Treatment took about 20 minutes. She was able to return to normal activities immediately. She is intending eventually to undergo surgical facelift for a more definitive fix , when her hectic work schedule permits.
