Facelift and Brow Lift Improve Jowls and Drooping Forehead.

This 54 year old woman was starting to feel she looked tired when she looked in the mirror. Active, healthy and young feeling on the inside, she wanted to look how she felt on the outside. She felt her face was drooping, with her brow sitting lower than it used to, with lines on her forehead, and sagging in her cheeks and jaw. When she did her research online looking for the right surgeon for a facelift Toronto plastic Surgeon Dr. Weinberg’s name came up. At the initial consultation Dr. Weinberg learned she had had previous dental surgery, and had lost a tooth and required a bone graft. Loss of teeth and resulting resorption of bone can cause the overlying tissues to shrink and sink, contributing to hollowing and sagging in the mid and lower face. He recommended a brow lift to address her forehead issues, and a full long scar facelift. He explained she did have considerable skin laxity and it would be a difficult procedure to get just the right amount of skin tightening in the lower face without making her look too tight. He also advised she could benefit from some liposuction to the neck, as she had laxity there too. After her 5 hour procedure,during which a brow,and facelift procedure with liposuction were carried out,  she recovered well, and was back to normal activities within the week. In her photos taken several weeks later we can see her brow sits much higher, giving a wider eyed appearance, with elimination of forehead lines. Her cheeks have a higher fuller contour, and there is less fullness in the jawline, with tauter, but not overly tight skin. We can also see how minimally visible the scars near her ears look even at a few weeks post -op. These will continue to fade and will likely be a barely visible white line at 12 months. She has returned to the clinic for skin care , AFA peels, and to maintain her youthful appearance with Botox and filler.
