Mommy Makeover:

This 35 year old woman had had 2 previous C-sections, and subsequently breastfed. She had lost her pregnancy weight easily, she was working out 3 times a week, and her weight had been stable for some time at 114 pounds. Despite this she was unhappy with her loose hanging tummy and smaller, hanging breasts post-breastfeeding. She inquired about a Mommy Makeover with Dr. Weinberg, as he was recommended by her family physician. Dr. Weinberg reviewed her options and she decided on both an abdominoplasty and breast augmentation. He explained that her breast surgery would be somewhat difficult because of tuberous breasts, and she might need a breast lift to raise the breasts to a good height on the chest wall, and that this would be best determined at the time of surgery. She underwent a 4-hour surgery for both breasts and tummy. A breast lift was deemed necessary along with the breast augmentation, thus she had an “anchor” type incision, around the nipple, down and below the breast (inframammary) such that the scar would be concealed beneath the breast. She had 225cc round moderate plus profile saline implants placed beneath the muscle. The tummy tuck was accomplished with incision from hip to hip above the belly button, and a second incision below. A 1.75 kilogram piece of tissue (pannus) was removed and the underlying muscles were stitched back together. Liposuction of the flanks was employed to smooth out the contours. She is pictured after recovery, with a more aesthetic size and positions of the breasts, best appreciated in a lateral view, and a much improved shape to her abdomen.
